Spring Creek Watershed Partnership
A project of the Golden Triangle Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) Council

Welcome!

The Spring Creek Watershed Partnership promotes public awareness and participation in the restoration and protection of the Spring Creek watershed and its local streams and rivers.  Our mission is to provide leadership and promote stewardship through community development, educational outreach, and participation with private landowners and public entities for enhancing, restoring, and protecting the natural resources of the Spring Creek watershed.

The Partnership strives to help keep the public informed on issues regarding water policy for our lakes, streams and rivers.  Our goal is to improve the health and quality of south Georgia's water and sustain a network of protected habitats for wildlife and people by cost share assistance to land owners for best management practices, such as grass waterways, critical habitat plantings, exclusion fencing, stream crossings, pasture plantings, and other erosion control methods.  We engage local and state officials by urging them to strengthen environmental protections and improve planning and zoning decisions.  We work cooperatively with local communities by informing citizens of helpful conservation strategies to address pollution of our water supplies and waterways.  We also offer workshops to provide water education to area teachers and students to inspire an appreciation of the wonders of nature and explain what we can all do to protect our environment.
